The Hatchie boot is our 6" hiking-style boot - a super-cute boot that's incredibly comfortable to wear and has demonstrated appeal to all ages - from high schoolers to retirees. Unlike most boots which elevate the heel, our boots keep your heels on the same plane as the rest of your foot, making you feel grounded and, combined with the soft sole, allow the bones of the foot to move as nature intended for improved balance and stability. The canoe-style sole structure is a classic and even though it's a boot, it offers a great barefoot feel. We consider them to be multi-functional, perfect for school, hiking or just hanging out.
 
We're incredibly proud of this new leather, called Oil Turquoise; it's both rich and rustic-appearing at the same time. We worked with one of our tanneries for almost one year to develop a unique, custom line of brightly-colored leathers that has tremendous pull-up - a trait in which oils and waxes that are infused into the leathers can be brought up to the surface of the leather with pressure from below or creasing. This action changes the surface color to be more bright and vivid than the basic background color. These are the kinds of leathers that get better looking with age and use. We're also impressed with how supple this leather is and how easily they break in.
 
These can be worn year round in warmer climates and they are perfect for spring through fall in northern climates. They look great with leggings or skinny jeans, and give a great boho vibe with maxi skirts or sundresses. For an effortlessly cool look, wear them laced to just the second level of eyelets and let the tongue flap over. Lacing them all the way up can help stabilize the ankle for better performance while hiking. These are not intended for winter use in cold climates as leather soles are slippery on snow and ice.
